Dr Rebekah Tanti-Dougall, Associate at Advocates, Tanti-Dougall & Associates, has participated at the 34th Maritime International Conference organised by WISTA International which was held between October 8th and 10th, 2014 in Limassol, Cyprus. The main theme of the maritime international conference was “Shipping Connects” and was attended by many members from different shipping entities as well as law firms providing shipping related services. The inception of WISTA which stands for Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association, took place forty (40) years ago in 1974 in the UK when a number of women in the shipping industry met during Christmas and decided to create a forum for women working in maritime with the first international conference taking place in 1981 in Hamburg. The original idea developed substantially into a worldwide community with a strong networking exchanging own experiences and providing professional support.
Dr Rebekah Tanti-Dougall, an LL.M. graduate in Maritime Law from IMO’s IMLI, is an active member of WISTA.
