TD&A NEWS: Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall Invited at World Safety Organization’s Conference in USA

 

Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall, Partner at Tanti-Dougall & Associates, Advocates has been invited to attend the 25th International Conference organized by the World Safety Organization between the 30th July and 31st July 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The International Conference was well attended and participants, representing Health & Safety consulting groups and authorities, construction companies, the Federal Aviation Administration as well as energy, oil and gas corporations, hailed from the various American States, Canada, Nigeria, Lebanon, Malaysia, Philippines, China and Malta.

The conference program addressed the many and varied aspects of occupational health & safety, including the promotion of safety for industrial growth, accident prevention, the importance of risk assessments and Health & Safety policies within the hotel industry, fire prevention at the workplace, Health & Safety training, health & safety environmental considerations, employees’ safety in transportation, safety in moving mass explosives, dealing with mold and bacteria as well as the necessity for viable safety programs.

Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall’s one hour presentation entitled “Health & Safety in the Hotel Industry” which was very well received, explained the EU regulations on Health & Safety as well as various international judgments on the matter, emphasizing why the hotels should adopt a preventive approach to health and safety for their employees and not just for their guests, with on-going training to be able to familiarize themselves with the different risks assessments, policies and benefits thereof.

The participation of Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall at the 25th International Conference organized by the World Safety Organization was sponsored by the CHI Group of Hotels & Resorts of which is she a legal consultant on Health & Safety to its various hotels in Malta and abroad. Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall has addressed many international conferences, seminars and workshops on Health & Safety legal matters including in Malta, Italy, UK, Portugal, USA and Russia, besides being a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.

Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall is a full member of the World Safety Organization which was founded in 1975 in the Philippines and its world centre was thereafter established in the USA in 1987, with the purpose to promoting its motto of “Making Safety A Way Of Life … Worldwide”, to liaison with the United Nations, with international as well as national corporations, companies and organizations on safety.
