HOTEL LAW NEWS: Higher Hotel Transactions Expected in 2013

It would appear that 2013 will be a record year for hotel transactions, much higher than in 2012 when hotel transactions on the European scenario alone had then reached Euro 5.6 billion. Intercontinental Hotel in Cannes fetched some Euro 450 million.

Leading real estate experts on the market have argued that low interest rates and less uncertainty on the Euro zone experienced with the financial crisis, have led to a number of remarkable dealings in hotels, mostly world re-known chain hotelier groups such as Hilton, Intercontinental, Mercure, Starwood as well as Marriott, especially in key European cities. Intercontinental has announced that it has already signed a deal to develop fifteen (15) new hotels to be operated under Holiday Inn Express Hotels, in Russia whilst Hilton will be expanding its group with another ten (10) new hotels in both Germany and Austria.
