3rd CHI International Health & Safety Conference, Malta 25-26-27 October, 2010

Dr. Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall and Dr Michael Tanti-Dougall addressed the 3rd CHI International Conference on Health & Safety entitled ‘Engineering Working Environment, Life Saving Equipment and Energy Saving Measures in the Hotel Industry’ held between the 25th and 27th October, 2010 at Corinthia Hotel St Georges Bay, St. Julians, Malta. The international conference was addressed by 5 local and 10 foreign speakers all experts in their respective fields.

The paper presented by Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall, was entitiled ‘Risk Management in the Hotel Industry’ while Dr Michael Tanti-Dougall addressed the participants on ‘Protecting Trade Marks and Patents from Counterfeit Products - Legal Implications’.

CHI Hotels and Resorts Group has embarked on these annual international conferences with the primary objective to increase awareness on the various health and safety issues within the hotel industry. The annual appointment has been proudly maintained by CHI ... and this year’s conference has provided the 49 participants mostly engineers who hailed from UK, Hungary, Tunesia, Portugal, Sudan, Russia, Sweden, Germany, Holland and Malta, with an excellent opportunity to learn on Health & Safety with particular emphasis on the various mechanical and electrical engineering aspects applicable... from risk management in the hotel environment, solar systems, fire protection systems, first aid and life saving equipment, legal issues on counterfeit electrical products to energy saving systems and insurance in the hotel industry. CHI has organised this year’s conference in conjunction with QPM Co. Ltd.
