FILM INDUSTRY NEWS: Tom Hanks in Malta to shoot film Captain Philips

Renowned Hollywood film actor Tom Hanks is in Malta for the shooting of Captain Philips which film is based on a true story of a certain Captain Philips of Maersk line container vessel, who offered himself to the Somali pirates in April 2009 as guarantee for the ransom requested to be able to safeguard the rest of his crew. Captain Philips was rescued three days later by the Navy SEALS in a raid that left three captives dead and one captured. Tom Hanks is playing the title role of Captain Philips.

Catherine Keener is also acting in the film which is directed by Paul Greengrass.
