TAX NEWS: Malta has been removed from Italy’s ‘Blacklist’ of Tax Havens Jurisdictions

Sunday, 29 August 2010 16:55

In August, Malta was removal from the Italian Black List of the Controlled Foreign Companies and that concerning residence of individual taxpayers.  This important development will further seek to encourage investment in Malta which has seen significant growth in recent years.  Italian companies seeking to set up branches or subsidiaries can do so without being subject to additional tax burden.  Since Malta’s EU Membership in 2004, companies also have access to EU Directives as well as over sixty (60) Double Taxation Treaties, one of which is with Italy.
